Remote sensing image processing
ERDAS IMAGINE is a remote sensing image processing application. It allows the user to import a wide variety of remotely sensed imagery from satellite and aerial platforms and produce useful information from the data. IMAGINE is available in three levels of functionality depending upon the users’ requirements: Essentials; Advantage and Professional. It also has a number of add-on modules that extend the capability of the software.

ERDAS IMAGINE 2011 builds on v2010, the most significant release of the software since 1992 when it evolved from a command line interface. The new 2011 version has a Microsoft Ribbon style user interface, providing a modern look and feel, improving usability and productivity while reducing the learning curve. No other software tool on the market is as powerful when it comes to raster image processing. An always up to date range of satellite sensor models ensures accuracy in orthorectification, the most powerful mosaicing tool available, MosaicPro, is now included at the Advantage level as standard and there is a range of tools to output your data to hardcopy or other GIS.

There is also a range of classification, feature extraction and change detection options available, both from within the core software and from add-on modules. IMAGINE also comes equipped with inbuilt connectivity to support enterprise geospatial image processing, enabling client side interaction with ESRI ArcSDE and Oracle Spatial 10g. ERDAS IMAGINE also links seamlessly with the ERDAS APOLLO range of enterprise tools, allowing ingestion of OGC WMS, WFS and WCS, while allowing the creation of APOLLO WPS (web processing service).

IMAGINE AutoSync

A superbly accurate method of aligning two or more images over the same areal extent
Generates thousands of tie points between the images
Can quickly improve the alignment of calibrated datasets, or align raw imagery to an existing referenced dataset
Perfect output for change detection or image fusion

IMAGINE DeltaCue

A sophisticated change detection programme
Only pick up relevant change; by dynamically setting change thresholds or spatially and spectrally filtering out changes that are not of interest
Built in pre-processing automates tasks such as image normalisation
An iterative, interactive process that outputs the change that the user requires

Extending IMAGINE’s native vector format support by implementing Safe Software’s FME
Direct read of MicroStation DGN v 7 and v8 formats
