Licensing

Licensing your new copy of ERDAS IMAGINE 2011, LPS 2011 or ERDAS ER Mapper 2011 is easy! (This also applies to version 2010, IMAGINE 9.3, LPS 9.3 and ER Mapper 7.2, and licenses for 2011 are backwardly compatible with these versions.)

All you need to do is install the software you downloaded from www.erdas.com. A top tip here is to only install the products for which you are licensed - you can select these during the installation process. The licensing tools are automatically installed with any install of the software; if you're running a license server there's a separate option to just install the license tools.

Once the licensing tools are installed on your choice of license server (note: if you are using a stand alone PC your PC is your license server), then you'll need to find your System ID. To do this, go to Start > ERDAS > ERDAS-Net Licensing Tools > Show System ID.

You should get something like this:

Choose a connection that will remain constant; Local Area Connection is probably the one you want unless you've got a good reason. Note to laptop users - make sure your laptop is out of the docking station when you do this.

FAQs from the ERDAS site...

Once you've found your ERDAS-Net System ID, you'll need to send it to us with:

• Your name
• Your company
• What software you would like licensed for this system

We'll then process this as quickly as possible - generally by return but sometimes we have to involve ERDAS in the US, in which case it can take a little longer.
